As of 1st. July 2019 UK mobile phone users can switch provider by a simple text message.
It is no longer necessary to obtain a porting authorisation code (PAC) to give to a new provider in order to move and retain the same phone number. All you have to do is simply send a free text and you’re done?
This easy switching system should be industry standard. Imagine how easy it would be to switch electricity, gas, broadband and water supplier?
