Ignoring social distancing

Key workers deserve better

Barely out of lockdown after facing a once in a lifetime world wide unprecedented pandemic and some decide it’s time for a holiday.

I can’t begin to imagine how upsetting it must be for front line workers to witness the selfishness displayed over recent days. They all deserve so much better – and this is the thanks we give them. We repay their selfless acts with selfish actions.

Selfish behaviour

These guys fight on the hospital front line caring for the sick suffering with the Covid-19 day after day, placing their own lives at risk, and what do we do – we go out for a ‘jolly’. Where’s the respect?

Just imagine for a moment the terrifying fear a nurse or doctor must have faced at the beginning of the virus outbreak with no real knowledge of what they were about to encounter? The fear must have been palpable.

Ignorance is bliss – really?

The sheer magnitude of ignorance and stupidity was clearly put on display for all to see, and it appears from some reports that very little social distancing was observed, if any.

Difficult

Many furloughed at home have tried desperately to adhere to the social distancing and isolation rules, and it’s been difficult, especially for families – and some clearly have not.

Many millions of UK citizens are benefiting by being paid to ‘hold up’ at home as they wait for the virus to be brought under control. But others clearly see this as a time to take a ‘jolly’. This is just wrong on so many levels!

Stay in your own area

To the people disrespecting our beauty spots I say, ‘go home and take your rubbish with you’! This is not a time to holiday! Not just yet at least.

Sorry

I just want to say sorry to our front line workers! The pure ignorance of these selfish few actions is utterly breathtaking.

Packed beach – very little social distancing here too

Weak governance

I blame it in part on the woefully inadequate approach the UK government has shown since they unravelled the original, simple and easily understood ‘Stay at Home’ message. Our guard came down almost overnight.

Maybe we should consider adding the message, ‘Don’t be Stupid’ or ‘Don’t be Selfish’, or even, ‘Don’t’ be ignorant’ – to the new government slogan?

We don’t have to follow the herd and surely we don’t need to be told not be stupid as well, or do we?

Nowhere to park
Sorry, but we are closed!

Not ready

We definitely should of had at least these four simple measures operational before easing lockdown.

Pretty much overnight we have moved from, ‘Stay at Home’ to ‘Go Out’ with no clear new plan. It would have made much more sense if we had been eased into the next phase of our lockdown process. Instead, it’s been played out on the hoof. It has the feeling of being ‘made up’ as we go along!

Why weren’t all of these put in place first?

  • Testing and more testing…
  • Contact tracing system
  • The App to alert people to virus cases they may have come in contact with
  • The 5 stage alert system

But oh no! The lack of clarity, in my opinion has allowed unnecessary confusion. Here we are instead with the selfish few wandering around England searching for their right to recreation at the expense of others, to satisfy a moment of personal selfish ‘want’ (not even need)!

Let’s go out for the day and queue for the toilet. Just the best day out…

Queuing for one toilet…really? Imagine..?

How about if we all stay in our own counties at least – just for a few months longer until this thing is brought under control.

Don’t be ignorant!

Please ‘Stay Alert’ and go home! Repay our health workers by not being selfish! It’s time to be selfless just like them – just for a few moments longer. I sincerely hope we don’t now go backwards and witness a second virus wave… Exactly where is that bloody ‘R’ number now?

A BIG thank you

Thank you to all health workers, front line staff and key workers all over the UK.

You know who you are.

Thank you.

And I’d like to say sorry on behalf of those who do not think and do not care!

The ignorance of stupidity is utterly breathtaking!

This is my opinion and I apologise if I have upset any stupid or ignorant people.
