Remarkable achievement, congratulations Apollo 11 crew

On this day, 16th July 1969 Apollo 11 blasted off from Kennedy Space Centre to begin a mission to the moon. Four days later, on the 20th July 1969, man walks on the moon for the first time. History is made witnessed by millions on television.

Astronauts, Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins became household names around the world.

That now famous quote spoken by Neil Armstrong from the surface of the moon, encapsulated the feeling of pure wonderment.

Armstrong said, ‘That’s one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind’. It captured the hearts and minds of millions and millions of people around the world, me included.

Neil Armstrong became the first human to walk on the moon and it was witnessed live during a television broadcast to millions around the globe.

This simply has to be, to date, the greatest, if not the greatest achievement in human endeavour, ever!
